Mike Young's Bio
Writer/Director/Stand up Mike Young is a fresh voice in entertainment. His edgy style and relatable subjects make Young one of the most in demand talents today. Appearing on Netflix, Showtime, Late Night with Craig Ferguson, AXTV’s Live At Gotham and The Carson Daly Show Mike got his start in stand-up. Opening for Joe Rogan, Russell Peters and for ten years as Bob Saget’s opener. Always looking to cultivate talent Young created The Young American Comedy Tour featuring Sebastian Maniscalco, Bert Kreischer, Bobby Lee and Ian Edwards. The tour would run for three years and still gets brought up to this day as one of the most successful comedy tours in the stand-up arena.
Young’s first comedy album Droppin Bombs put Mike on the map when the coordinators of The Just For Laughs Festival tapped Mike as part of their New Faces Program. It was there that Mike landed his first of many network deals. Warner Brothers tapped Mike to developed his own sitcom. “This was the first young man we’ve seen in a long time able to capture the ears and eyes of both black and white audiences and it felt authentic and natural as it became obvious right away these were not stories fabricated but lived,” – The Detroit Free Press.
After Montreal Mike hit the road. Mike was then spotted by actor/producer Tobey Maguire of Spiderman fame and asked to collaborate. They sold a show to ABC TV centered around the idea of Mike moving back to Detroit and running the family scrap business.
