Robert Powell's Bio
Robert Powell III is a stand-up comedian and political satirist from Monroe, Louisiana. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and a Master’s in Political Science from Texas Christian University before launching a successful career in Louisiana politics, where he rose to Deputy Chief of Staff and later served in the Bobby Jindal administration. Faced with choosing between politics and comedy, Robert took a leap of faith and pursued stand-up full time. After years of grinding on the road, he was named Louisiana’s Comedian of the Year three consecutive years and joined the Shaquille O’Neal All-Star Comedy Jam Tour. He has appeared on Showtime, HBO, Netflix, and Aspire, and was handpicked by Donald Glover to co-star in an Emmy-nominated episode of Atlanta. Today, Robert tours nationally and splits his time between his ranch in Texas and Los Angeles.
